Hardscape, Patios & Fireplaces
Summit County, Colorado
Flagstone patios, concrete walks, outdoor kitchens, and natural gas fireplace builds for Summit County properties. Outdoor living spaces at altitude need to be built differently — and we’ve been doing it long enough to know exactly what works and what doesn’t survive a Colorado winter.
Outdoor Surfaces That Survive Altitude
The freeze-thaw cycle at 9,000 feet will destroy a patio that isn’t built for it. Thin flagstone set in mortar cracks. Concrete without proper control joints spalls. Pavers without adequate base depth heave. Every material decision we make on a Summit County hardscape is driven by what the climate actually does here — not what looks good in a catalog.
We use minimum 6-inch compacted aggregate base under all pavers, full-depth frost-protected footings on any built structure, and drainage gradients that route snowmelt away from the house foundation. For natural gas fireplaces, we coordinate with Xcel Energy on gas line permits and inspections.
Popular project types: flagstone patio with fire pit, concrete driveway and walk, outdoor kitchen with gas hookup, covered pergola with concrete base. HOA approval documentation available if required.
